This Grandad was born in 1951. At the Age of 46 I was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis (MS). I’m Now 73 I felt I needed a challenge!
You ask a mountaineer why he climbs mountains and he answers “because they’re there”. This happens to be exactly the same answer the rest of us give when asked why we drive round them. I felt like modern technology had left me way behind. I decided to try and see if a “Grandad” could make sense of it all and climb my modern equivalent of a mountain……I knew I had a lot to learn.
My Wheelchair limited the sort of challenges I could undertake
On vacation recently a post popped up, on my Facebook, from the teenage daughter of a friend. She was speaking in a language I couldn’t understand. She was working on some project or other and using terms like Blogs, Hosting, Shorts, Artificial Intelligence, ChatGPT, Affiliate links, Instagram Reels, xml sitemaps, SEO..etc. So, that was the moment I saw the mountain I had to climb. You have to keep your brain active but it might have been easier doing “Japanese for Beginners “
You just won’t believe how much I didn’t know I didn’t know!
I knew I didn’t know certain things but I didn’t know there were lots of things that I didn’t even know I didn’t know! Anyway, the result is, I’ve now got a Website, a Facebook Page, a Twitter Account plus 3 Instagram accounts. I was feeling quite pleased with my 73 year old self when I realised that I was the only one who knew about it. As a disabled person, I thought I could use the internet to share some of the experiences and things I’d learned over the years about coping with life when your mobility is impaired.
I’m Asking You Guys for a Bit of Help and Support
I forgot one very important thing. The majority of people who benefit from the information on this site will probably be elderly, like me, or disabled in some way. Most of them either won’t, can’t or are just too scared and unwilling to try and navigate the dangerous world of online searching, researching, shopping and making payments online.
So, I think it’s safe to assume that, if you’re reading this, you might know what I mean. Do you have an elderly or disabled friend or family member. Could you help them find that useful item designed to improve their quality of life? Perhaps you’d like to help me climb a little higher up the technology mountain by perhaps following me and spreading the word. Show this site to your loved one and encouraging your friends and followers.to do the same. Help them find what they need, now, when they need it! See links below.
