Engaging With The Reality That Nobody Knows Anything about what you’re going through.

The initial impact your diagnosis makes on you is crucial, and that’s where your introduction to whatever disability you’ve been diagnosed with begins. In some way you’re happy to find out what it is that is actually wrong with you. You then realise that you not only need to get your own head around it but will have to explain it all to your friends and family. Your story will spark curiosity and emotion. This happened to me in 1997 when I was 48. I’m now 73 but remember that the pain points and questions raised at the time quickly establish that nobody, including myself, really knew much about MS. So, don’t expect that anyone understands anything about your disability The purpose of my post is to give you a sneak peek into what to expect. Hopefully set the tone for an immersive reading experience.

Hopefully the Information I post will of interest and, as I post more, helpful.

Within the body of these blog post lies the heart of the message. I’ll try and form the content into coherent sections, each with a clear heading that guides you through my main thought processes. Looking further into each of the major causes of physical disability, in its many forms, and hopefully provide some valuable insights, support information and relatable examples. I hope I can keep you engaged and eager to learn more.

You need to help yourself and those around you understand.

Don’t ever assume that people know what you’re going through. You didn’t understand it yourself before it became important to you! Accept that you have the responsibility and opportunity to find the best way forward for yourself. I hope as time goes by that this website, with your support, likes, shares, follows and subscribes across social media will develop into a community that shares relevant issues and provide actionable solutions or thought-provoking questions to keep us all thinking and engaged. Please bear with me as I roll this out. Comments, questions, or sharing always welcome. I Hope I can inspire you to explore further and find the motivation to overcome some of the issues that those of us with a disability have to live with on a daily basis.
